The first in a line of cassette-only split releases from Liquid Library . Each artist is given one ten-minute side to fill with whatever the hell they want to fill it with. We try to pick artists that will compliment each other thematically and aesthetically.
On side one Spwls delivers a whimsical slice of his trademark urban-pastoral sound-collage. The sounds of modern life - television, conversation, irrigation - juxtaposed against avant-folk pianos and melodica make this lo-fi trip a joy to lose yourself in.
Side two brings Finn, again's doomy and gloomy dreamscapes to a nightmare-level of intensity. Drones, screams and twitches oscillate wildly - approaching melodies and rhythms but always just eluding understanding for the sake of a visceral and compelling atmosphere.
